She is a Storm Chaser and a fantastic photographer.. Enjoy an action packed portfolio, and learn how to manage adrenalin rushes and photography.

… Finally, do you have one great advice for any aspiring photojournalist searching for dramatic images.?
PATIENCE. Have lots of patience! Developing your own style and following takes a bit of time. Most get discouraged by not getting many “likes” on their images when posting to social media when they frst start out. The thing to keep in mind is to keep true to yourself, shoot for yourself and the rest will follow.

Artist, Mentor, she is devoted to create, share, and teach. | Robin Griggs Wood

I love all imagery genres––even black and white. I am a capricious creative and try not to limit myself or take my creations too seriously. I love nature and all its myriad facets––widescapes, macros, flora and fauna. I love fantasy and imagination. I love expressing common human values; community, compassion, family, optimism, harmony and humor. I love to make folks laugh. Mostly, I love people.

I discovered that there is something wonderful in every single person on this planet, if you only pay attention long enough to find it. When you find what those wonderful things are, you can derive constant and consistent inspiration and motivation every single day. I’m inspired all the time by my students, as well. These people that I help are my “tribe”––a group that is passionate about creating beautiful or surprising imagery. Being there for them keeps me going. I read a lot, too. I’m a life-long-learner. I never presume that I know everything about a subject, even if I’ve been doing it every day for years. The constant quest for understanding takes me to the most enlightening places.

Ultimately, my greatest inspiration and motivation comes from the question I ask myself, “How can I give others a positive moment in their day today?”

The night landscapes master is now exploring a new way with infrared without losing an inch of style.
“From the first moment I started in earnest with photography, night photography caught my attention powerfully. It was a very expressive technique. At night there is little light, the night is quite unknown to us … Nature looks different, there is a magic light, it is a different way of seeing things.”

I started in photography in 1975 when I took over the 35mm DSLR my parents had bought. In the beginning I mostly did action photography like motor cross. In college I took photography classes and did all kinds of different photography. I found Velvia 50 flm and fell in love with it.
Jeff instructs photography for 256 Photography workshops in Southern Utah/Northern Arizona.
