To me, the most beautiful person is the person with daily life and their work.

Vietnamese photographer Khanh Phan shares with us how aerial photography helps her capture the vibrant life of her country and the daily work of its craftsmen.

“My name is Khanh Phan, I’m 35 years old. I am from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. I work in a bank. Photography is my passion. I started shooting photos 3 years ago. I have never attended a photography class and have never learned about post-production. I love this life and I create images from my eyes and my heart.”

“With skilled hands, workers create colorful life pictures that can only be seen from above. They are like mature architects.”

Searching for an authentic picture of the world’s most secretive nation: North Korea

The entire country of DPRK (Democratic People’s Republic of Korea) is shrouded in myth and secrecy making it one of the most mysterious places in the world. Not many outsiders get a chance to visit North Korea. For those who make it inside North Korea’s borders, photography is highly restricted and controlled. I traveled across the country hoping to pierce this secretive country’s mysterious shroud searching for what lies behind the rhetoric and what life is really like.

Creative Street Photography

Street photography looks immensely straightforward – snapshots of every day life – but truly artistic street photography is in fact one of the most difficult of undertakings. You have to see something brilliant and capture it in a heartbeat, getting the exposure and composition correct at the same time.

“Days of Night/Nights of Day” is about the daily life of the inhabitants of Norilsk. Norilsk is a mining city, with a population of more than 170,000. It is the northernmost city (100,000+ people) in the world. The average temperature is -10° C and reaches lows of -55° C in the winter. For two months of the year, the city is plunged into polar night when there are zero hours of sunlight.
