E-1

The E-1 was launched in 2003 as the first Olympus digital single-lens reflex camera with support for exchangeable lenses. Olympus perfected a single-lens reflex camera system the highest quality, with features that included a new range of Zuiko exchangeable lenses designed specifically for digital cameras, a full-frame CCD based on the Four Thirds System, dust and moisture protection, and a dust reduction system.

Septembre 2004

E-300

The E-300 went on sale in 2004 as an affordable digital single-lens reflex camera with an 8-megapixel CCD based on the Four Thirds System. It also featured the same highly acclaimed dust reduction system used on the E-1. With a zoom lens as a standard feature, the camera was priced below ¥100,000 yen. This bold pricing strategy triggered a price war around the ¥100,000 yen level in the market for digital single-lens reflex cameras.

Septembre 2005

E-500

At just 435g, the E-500 was the world’s lightest interchangeable lens SLR body at the time of its launch in 2005. Equipped with an 8-megapixel CCD, it also gained an excellent reputation for its dust reduction system. With 25 photographic modes, including 15 selectable scene modes, the camera ensured optimal exposure in all situations.

E-330

The E-330 was launched in 2006 as the world’s first digital interchangeable lens SLR camera with Live View. This feature allows the photographer to set up the composition and angle of each shot while viewing the image in the LCD monitor on the back of the camera. The movable LCD monitor can be raised up to 90° or lowered up to 45°, allowing high-angle and low-angle shots to be taken from a comfortable position.

E-400

The compact size and low weight of this latest Four Thirds Standard camera, allows photographers to take it virtually anywhere, while not having to do without the considerable benefits of SLR photography. This model features a new CCD with 10.0 million pixels and a state-of-the-art amplifier circuit for incredible imaging performance at super fast speed. As the design of the E-400 is based on the Four Thirds Standard, users have virtually unlimited flexibility. A wide range of high-quality, interchangeable lenses, including the EISA Award winning Olympus ZUIKO DIGITAL Top Pro lenses, plus other accessories are available for all types of needs. These are provided by Olympus and, thanks to cross-manufacturer compatibility of the standard, from other manufacturers as well. As with all E-System cameras, the E-400 features the Supersonic Wave Filter – ensuring dust-free photography, even after changing lenses under challenging conditions.

E-410

Great things come in small packages.

Extraordinary compactness, leading-edge technology and brilliant performance distinguish the new Olympus E-410 from the competition. This successor to the E-400 is one of the world’s most compact D-SLRs with Live Preview. Photographers benefit from exceptional mobility and are not limited to only looking through the viewfinder when framing compositions – as is the case in most D-SLRs – but can frame their subject directly on the large 2.5”/6.4cm HyperCrystal LCD. Thanks to compatibility with the Four Thirds Standard, a supreme selection of lenses and other accessories is at the disposal of users, extending the potential areas of application. Meanwhile, a new, professional-grade Live MOS sensor delivers 10 Megapixels of high-definition image recording under all conditions. Also new is the image processing engine which features excellent noise performance. It dramatically boosts shooting results and further perfects quality. And naturally, as with all E-System cameras from the inventor of dust-free D-SLR photography, the Olympus E-410 incorporates the patented Supersonic Wave Filter. This ensures that users never need to worry about the harmful effects dust can have on their images.

E-510

Take confident, professional shots with ease and control.

It’s about forethought, professional specifications and the seamless integration of cutting-edge technology: The Olympus E-510 delivers nothing short of impeccable performance. This successor to the E-500 gives photographers a better way to frame their compositions since – unlike most D-SLRs – it boasts Live Preview on its 2.5”/6.4cm HyperCrystal LCD. Olympus proves itself once again as a technology leader with this camera’s built-in image stabiliser, which incorporated directly into the body, so there’s no need for the costly inclusion of a stabiliser in each lens.  Experience dramatically improved shooting results with a new image processing engine that offers excellent noise performance – thus bringing picture quality to a whole new level. And, as with all of its E-System cameras, Olympus eliminates the threat of dust with Supersonic Wave Filter. What’s more, the addition of a new Live MOS sensor in this Four Thirds- based camera delivers 10 Megapixels of high-quality detailed photography.

E-3

It’s here: The new flagship of the Four Thirds Standard-based Olympus E-System. The E-3 gives photographers a high-performance tool that is primed for any assignment and satisfies the most stringent demands for D-SLR photography. It represents the ultimate choice for the professional photographer and provides the highest levels of speed and image quality as well as Live View capabilities and the ultimate in reliability.
The E-3 features the world’s fastest auto-focusing speeds thanks to an advanced AF system and new ZUIKO DIGITAL SWD (Supersonic Wave Drive) lenses. Matched with shutter speeds of up to 1/8000th sec. and 5fps sequential shooting (with a 19 image RAW buffer in burst mode), the E-3 gives photographers a crucial edge to help capture that decisive shot.

E-420

Olympus today announces the extremely portable E-420 – perfect for everyone who wants to step up to the power and performance of a digital SLR (single lens reflex) yet enjoy the ease of use and ability to compose images on the LCD common to point-and-shoot cameras. Weighing a mere 380 grams (13.4 ounces), the E-420 is 20 to 40 percent lighter than competing DSLRs. Good things come in this small package, including Live View, which enables users to hold the camera away from their faces and interact with their subjects – ideal when capturing photos of children, for example.

With its pro features and top image quality, the new Olympus E-520 D-SLR fits the bill perfectly. The successor to the EISA Award-winning E-500 series incorporates a built-in image stabiliser to ensure blur-free shots irrespective of the lens attached – no matter if wide-angle or ultra-tele and without the need for a tripod. Matched with the Supersonic Wave Filter dust protection system and improved Live View capabilities, the freedom to frame and take great, crystal-clear photos is virtually limitless. Based upon the forward-looking “designed for digital” Four Thirds Standard, the 10.0 Megapixel E-520 with Live View ensures uncompromising D-SLR quality.

E-30

A creative photographer’s most important tool is the power of expression – and the Olympus E-30 delivers it in spades. For the ultimate in artistic expression, the E-30 offers six Art Filters, each of which uses different settings to create incredible photographic effects that would otherwise require additional lenses, filters or complex editing.
A Multiple Exposure mode further bolsters the potential for distinctive artistry in compositions, as do the choice of nine separate aspect ratios. With the newly-developed high-speed 12.3 Megapixel Live MOS sensor and TruePic III+ image processor*, top quality image results are ensured. Ensuring an enjoyable photo experience, the monitor facilitates Live View framing ease from virtually any angle. Furthermore, thanks to built-in image stabilisation*, shots stay impressively sharp irrespective of the attached lens.
And because sometimes the perfect shot can present itself in the blink of an eye, the E-30 boasts a range of high-speed performance features to make sure that you’ll always be ready for it: lightning-fast autofocus speeds, 5fps sequential shooting and shutter speeds of up to 1/8000th sec.
